A comforting one-pan dish filled with roasted baby potatoes and savory smoked sausage, topped with melted cheese and zesty ranch seasoning.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound smoked sausage (halal-certified, no pork)
  • 4 cups baby potatoes, halved or quartered
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 packet ranch seasoning mix (halal-certified)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (or a mix of your favorite cheeses)
  • 1/2 cup sour cream (optional, for serving)
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Rinse the baby potatoes, slice them in half or quarters for even cooking.
  3. Cut the smoked sausage into 1/4-inch thick rounds.
  4. In a small bowl, mix ranch seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper.
  5. In a large bowl, coat the halved potatoes with olive oil and half the ranch seasoning mix.
  6. Prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper or grease it lightly.
  7. Spread the seasoned potatoes evenly on the baking sheet in a single layer.
  8. Scatter the sausage pieces over the potatoes.
  9. Roast in the oven for 35-40 minutes, turning halfway until golden brown and tender.
  10. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top and return to the oven for another 5 minutes until melted.
  11. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot with sour cream if desired.

Notes

For extra crispy potatoes, ensure they’re spread out on the baking sheet. You can also use pre-cooked sausage to save time.
