Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 ripe bananas (mashed)
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 large egg (beaten)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
  3. In a large bowl, mash the bananas with a fork until smooth.
  4. Stir in the melted butter until well combined.
  5. Add sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract. Mix until evenly blended.
  6. Sprinkle the baking soda and salt over the mixture and stir gently.
  7. Add the flour and stir just until the flour disappears—don’t overmix.
  8. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and spread it evenly.
  9. Bake for 50 to 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  10. Let the banana bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Use very ripe bananas for maximum flavor. Consider adding chocolate chips or walnuts for customization.
